Where in my house would you recommend placing the carbon monoxide alarms? I bought the First Alert 2-in-1 Z-Wave Smoke Detector & Carbon Monoxide Alarm recently. And will some tell me what is proper carbon monoxide alarm placement?

It is important to install carbon monoxide alarms close to or in each of your sleeping rooms. There are many states that now require a carbon monoxide alarm to be placed in each bedroom. For added protection, you can place the alarm at least 15-20 feet away from the fuel burning or the fireplace.

Also, the carbon monoxide alarms are to be installed at least 10 feet away from sources bringing in a lot of humidity. These may be bathrooms and showers. In two storeyed houses, it is recommended to install one alarm on each level of the home. If there is a cellar, you could place it at the top of the cellar stairs.
