When I was last in the US, I changed my status from one grouping [e.g. Understudy (F1) or Temporary Worker (H1B)] to another. Do I need a new non-immigrant visa?

Yes. In the event that you have changed your status, you should likewise introduce confirm
that you did as such legitimately by giving USCIS Form I-797 (Notice of Action) for
Change/Adjustment of Status to the Consular Officer at the time of your visa interview.
