All-new Apple Watch Series 3
Apple should have had a great day yesterday as it unveiled a bunch of new, exciting products to the world. One among them was the Apple Watch Series 3, the third premium smartwatch from the company. Apple has come up with really astounding features and beautiful designs with this generation.
This Apple Watch Series 3 comes with an upgraded W2 chip and a new dual-core processor that result in improved battery life, efficient communication between the iPhone and Watch and 70% faster performance.
In addition, there are quite a few interesting and useful features that would indeed attract customers:
4G connectivity with LTE
You could receive calls, send messages and use apps (say, search places through Google Maps) without the necessity of being paired to an iPhone. (That’s really cool! But Samsung and LG has done is a bit earlier.) However, Apple claims its Watch Series 3 as the most powerful LTE-enabled smartwatch yet. You might not want to carry your phone for day-long, undisturbed hike, yet can make emergency calls and send messages in the case of any situation. This isn’t a game-changer, but definitely a boon to few.
The innovative idea behind the LTE connectivity is that the glass itself acts as the antenna for LTE.
Not to worry if you can’t afford the $399 LTE variant. You can get hold of the non-LTE variant for $329. The next best thing in this generation is the watchOS4. watchOS4 will be available from September 19 and boasts a lot of improvements.
Apple Watch Series 3 can talk back to you now, provided you’re paired with your iPhone and it’s connected to the internet!! In this case, you can pretty much prolong every conversation with Siri as you’d do with your phone.
Health and Activity tracking made better
Watch series 3 can now measure resting heart rate, recovery heart rate and can also notify you when your heart rate is high or contrarily low. It has a built-in GymKit Platform that sync with select gym equipment thereby enhancing the way users work out.
One of my favorite improvements to the Watch OS4 is the live Music streaming. You could now listen to all the 40 million songs and connect to Beats 1 live radio station right from your wrist (only if you’ve a LTE-variant, duh!)
Apple has stuck to the same design with 38 and 42mm variant. The only difference between the LTE and non-LTE variant is the Red crown on the side. Apart from this, Apple has come up with crazy customization frenzy. You could choose from different types of straps and number of colors among them. Totally you’d have 7 types of straps and 58 colors to choose from.
The strap types include Sport Loop, Sport Band, Nike Sport Band, Woven Nylon, Leather, Hermès Leather and Stainless Steel.
