Criminal contempt of court

Contempt of court means any conduct that resists, slights or abuse the authority or nobility of a court. Regularly, contempt appears as activities that are viewed as impeding to the court's capacity to administer justice. Judges ordinarily have much discretion in choosing whom to hold in contempt and its type. Those held in contempt can incorporate parties to a procedure, lawyers, witnesses, jurors, individuals in or around a procedure, and officers or staff of the court itself.
