If all of the records concerning the employment of an employee with the pension plan sponsor and his participation in the pension plan were destroyed as a result of the events of September 11th. What is the remedy?

Remedy in case of destruction of documents

One should search for their personal records for any material or documents that would help to
establish your employment and participation in the plan. Look for pay statements and W-2 forms
showing that you were covered under a plan and the amount you may have contributed to the plan. You
may also have benefit or account statements issued by the plan that you may be keeping with your
important papers.
