Three terms to describe. Simple, friendly, and affordable. Leave alone the fact that it doesn’t have a cutesy name or attractive look of sorts, but it promises to serve a smart thermostat you’d want to have in your smarthome. All of this for not more than hundred bucks!
Looking at the picture, it sure does have more than what meets the eye: humble-looking smart thermostat with a handful of hidden features behind it’s not so expensive price.
So where’s the catch? The CT100 is a Z-Wave thermostat, not WiFi! Meaning you’ll need a separate automation hub that’s Z-wave compatible, for this thermostat to be able to communicate with other devices at home.
That said, to have a Z-Wave is really cool, but if you are not looking at a pricey automation hub to go with, I suggest that you consider other brands like Evolve and Nexia.
A few on-unit controls with not much complication. You will have to mark your settings through the complementing app associated with your hub.
2GIG is the name behind the CT100 and they don’t directly market to consumers. So don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard of them.
