Can I use Google Pixel C’s 60 W charger to charge by smartphone?

I wonder whether I can use a 60 W charger, which I guess should deliver an output of 5V and 12 Amp, to charge my smartphone?

Hi... First off, I definitely can’t imagine a USB type-C cable to transfer a whopping current of 12 Amp. Why would a smartphone or tablet need such a ginormous power to charge their small batteries?

Take a look at the bottom of the Google Pixel C charger or just go to the spec page and you’ll definitely see that 60 W charger delivers 20 V and 3 Amp. This is the figure that your tablets will use. Furthermore, this universal charger is capable of producing different output as well. That is, 5V - 3A and 12 v - 3 A. The former one is the suitable figure for many smartphones. That said, you can definitely use the Google Pixel C’s charger with any smartphone.
